End of Movember

My first Movember has drawn to a close. What a brilliant way to raise money and awareness for a great cause. I am so proud of Canada. We lead the world with over $38,000,000 in donations.

Over $5000 of those donations were contributed by my little group, The HeadhonchMos. I’d like to shout out to our team leader, Steve Maess, a Calgary mortgage planner who recruited my dad. His enthusiasm made the process a blast. Check out the Stashkerchiefs he made:

Steve’s Bro owns the quirky/fabulous Chapel Hats in Chinook Mall and generously volunteered it for an after hours team wrap up party. Everyone spent the evening mingling and trying on hats. The store itself is really unique. Almost all of the furniture is recycled. The floor, for example, was originally the floor of an old school in England. There are hundreds of little round dents from the heels of the nuns’ shoes.

My dad and I ended up winning Man of Movember and Miss Movember for top donations in our gender categories (mine wasn’t difficult to win as I was the only girl on the team). We also bought the hats we’re wearing. Dad’s hat is so fabulous, I’m pretty sure it was made for him. Mine is just something to help me feel a bit cooler at break dancing class. Also, check out all the merch we won during the raffle! I had a shameless 5 tickets drawn! I plan to wear the Zombies Love Moustaches shirt dancing as well.

All in all, a successful year! Next time around, I plan to get a little more crafty with it.

Thanks to everyone who grew a mo, and all those who donated. More importantly, than you to those who supported me and my team! You’re amazing.

Happy Movember mobrethren and sisters!
The time has come again…
The time when men across the nation sprout mustaches for a cause.

“With their ‘Mo’s’, these men raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer. Mo Bros effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November. Through their actions and words, they raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men’s health.”

I think Movember is the coolest and am rather jealous of the instant bond the Mo-stache creates between participating bros. When my dad and his work crew signed up, I discovered that women could be “MoSistas” too.If you are able to help, I’d love it if you’d donate to me. Even a dollar helps. Thank you so much!
