birdsnest2: For all the stupid shit this guy says (seriously guys, his handlers’ lives must be nightmares) this made me laugh and really appreciate someone with a sense of humour in Calgary.

fishingboatproceeds: This man needs to be mayor of ALL THE CITIES.

tyleroakley: Now THAT’S how you get reelected.

What a great city! What a great mayor!

COKE OLYMPICS “BEAT 2012”

I am a huge fan of Mark Ronson. What a creative and exciting way to document the Olympics. Really excited to see how it turns out.

Valentines baskets photos are available at The Stand. We’re pretty proud of them.
Gentlemen Prefer Blondes but red heads and brunettes would also love this sensuous collection: a pretty pink package of loves cakes, a luxurious bath cake and bath bonbons from Calgary’s own Frilly Lilly, dead sea bath salts from Seracon, the Sanctuary collection from Tea Forte, chocolate covered pretzels and most importantly luscious lip butter.

Lemon Made is Alive and Well

Just a little quiet. We’re gearing up for Valentines day, so you’ll see a lot more activity in the near future.

I want Allison Harvard to win America’s Next Top Model tonight!!!
I also want that cat costume to be my next Halloween costume.

End of Movember

My first Movember has drawn to a close. What a brilliant way to raise money and awareness for a great cause. I am so proud of Canada. We lead the world with over $38,000,000 in donations.

Over $5000 of those donations were contributed by my little group, The HeadhonchMos. I’d like to shout out to our team leader, Steve Maess, a Calgary mortgage planner who recruited my dad. His enthusiasm made the process a blast. Check out the Stashkerchiefs he made:

Steve’s Bro owns the quirky/fabulous Chapel Hats in Chinook Mall and generously volunteered it for an after hours team wrap up party. Everyone spent the evening mingling and trying on hats. The store itself is really unique. Almost all of the furniture is recycled. The floor, for example, was originally the floor of an old school in England. There are hundreds of little round dents from the heels of the nuns’ shoes.

My dad and I ended up winning Man of Movember and Miss Movember for top donations in our gender categories (mine wasn’t difficult to win as I was the only girl on the team). We also bought the hats we’re wearing. Dad’s hat is so fabulous, I’m pretty sure it was made for him. Mine is just something to help me feel a bit cooler at break dancing class. Also, check out all the merch we won during the raffle! I had a shameless 5 tickets drawn! I plan to wear the Zombies Love Moustaches shirt dancing as well.

All in all, a successful year! Next time around, I plan to get a little more crafty with it.

Thanks to everyone who grew a mo, and all those who donated. More importantly, than you to those who supported me and my team! You’re amazing.

Dilemma

I didn’t want to name my baskets. Numbers and letters didn’t cut it. They aren’t memorable. Descriptive names seemed to deprive the baskets of their dignity. But there had to be a way to differentiate them.

I was behind the eight-ball. Stumped. Punching the mill but only cracking lousy slants that didn’t rate. Just as I thought I was tripping for biscuits, about to dust out on the entire moniker lay, my troubles turned to eggs in the coffee. Dames. That was the answer. But not just any dames.

Old Hollywood starlets and the femmes of Film Noir.

And then it all was silk.
